With every new series the motor coach builders and engineers are striving to improve the features and ride of today's magnificent motor coaches. However, until now, no one has done anything to improve the coach operator
in the charter and tour industry.
The music and entertainment industry have enjoyed and demanded this method of driving because of their passenger's need to be able to sleep and relax while the coach is in motion. On the other hand, in the charter and tour industry most drivers just load up and take off without thought of what their passengers must feel. Why shouldn't they be able to enjoy the same luxury? After all, they are riding on the same type coach.

The CEO’s of most coach companies have never ridden with their drivers. Therefore, they can only assume all is going well. Most every man will boastfully tell you he can drive any thing with a steering wheel. They will also become very defensive if you challenge their driving ability. He taught himself, which is usually why he is so convinced of his ability. Most drivers today are self taught, and will become very upset when you might indicate that their driving skills are less than perfect. The safety course which is required by many transportation companies is often confused with good driving or smooth driving performance. While we must always insist on ‘Safety First’ a safety course does not teach graceful driving. One may qualify at the top of the class when taking a safety test, yet, may not be a good driver or motor coach operator. A good example of this would be someone who may have a degree in music and may not have the ability to perform to an audience. Smooth and graceful driving comes from a different source of training. It has more to do with one’s attitude, patience and general concern for their passengers. While these driving tips are directed to the larger carrier vehicles, the same applies to all common carriers whatever the size, such as limousines, senior citizen vehicles, church or school buses, and vans.
